Your cleaning and prevention plan includes taking dental X-rays of your teeth. At Lakeview Dental Care, we use the latest X-ray technology, known as digital radiography, to help our patients. Digital X-ray technology uses an electronic sensor to both store and capture the digital images of your mouth and teeth.
Taking digital X-rays is far more efficient and comfortable than taking X-rays with traditional film, and it significantly reduces your exposure to radiation. Because these digital images can instantly be viewed, our team is able to diagnose and detect any developing problems or abnormalities at a more efficient rate.
To prevent pain, discomfort and permanent damage to your teeth and mouth, it is important to have dental X-rays taken regularly. While digital radiography is much safer than traditional X-ray film, our office still takes all measures to prevent unnecessary radiation expose. Your safety and health are our number one priority.
How do I know I need an X-ray?
Your frequency and need for X-rays are based on your dental and medical history, dental exams, age, signs and symptoms, and risk for disease. While a full set of X-rays of your bottom and top teeth should be taken once or twice a year, it may be necessary to receive additional X-rays if any dental problems arise. If you are experiencing any difficulties or pain, we strongly suggest that you arrange an appointment with our dentists immediately.
